One Post a Day? Nope :-(

Next few days hold several errands, including:
• getting a Kol map so I can navigate taxi directions with images vs. words (learned after an awkward silence that I was too academically myopic, and product of a wealthy, privileged life, to realize that some drivers are probably illiterate so my Bengali/English phrase book useless when accompanied only by my inaccurate pronunciation!),
• submitting an application for a mobile, which means getting a passport photo snapped at a small shop, yet to be found, tucked along the labyrinth formed by 17th century colonial Calcutta geography superimposed by 21st century traffic demands, and a 24 hour waiting period to be checked out by Kol police,
• meeting with my landlord to settle a contract for the flat
• and moving to my new home

...leaving me with little time to tie up the last couple blogs I'd created from late last week nor find time to write more! In short...completed posts, ready for publication, happened five days...not even once a day in the first week! Hopefully its not just rationalization to feel like that'll be good enough for most weeks - finding a balance between working on the project, day-to-day Kol requirements like fresh fruit and veggie strolling, and time to exhale a bit, allowing West Bengal to setting into my pores is a challenge, to say the least, especially with some tropical bird perched on my window sill each morning, declaring 3:30 am for all of King Edward's Court to celebrate! He/she puts the cardinal family outside my Minneapolis window far down the list of both decibel and frequency of call!
