Day One - New Delhi, New View!

I should be shutting off the lights and letting my body rest...my mind's in charge, though, and it's functioning on high gear! An unconscious debate reveals itself every minute or so, detailing how little I had time to prepare myself for the reality I began to form by staying on the Delhi plane as it was announced the doors were closing. (I always appreciate them announcing the flight destination as they prepare to latch the final hatch, a "yep,on the correct flight" affirmation...today it felt like being at a wedding, with the baritone voiced Continental steward calling out to the seat buckled congregation if anyone objected to me joining their commitment to venture far East.) One moment the internal vacation nag yells out, "Oh my goodness, what's on the agenda for tomorrow" followed immediately by my conscious mind reminding my autonomic nervous system to stop pumping out more adrenaline, relax and soak in each moment...this is home now, not an exotic escape that disappears too quickly.

Room AC cutting through thick air from a late night rain yesterday, and tinny honk of the Ambassador taxis every few minutes reminds me that I am really here. It took less than 48 hours on previous trips to begin to acclimate to India and the way she engages your sensory and spiritual input receptors...wonder if the more permanent nature of this trip will create a different process?
